Ezekiel Speaks to Us Today
Ezekiel 1:2-3 “On the fifth day of the month (it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin), the word of the Lord came
to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the
Chaldeans by the Chebar canal, and the hand of
the Lord was upon him there.”
The nation of Israel was in exile in
Babylon. God was fulfilling His promise to bring a judgement on Israel
because they had rejected His Word. He had blessed the nation of
Israel in the past, when they had obeyed, and He had sent prophets to
warn them of the coming judgement when they were in disobedience, and
now the judgement was upon them.
I believe we in the United States
are experiencing a similar pattern, as are other nations. But all
is not lost, even in the midst of the judgement God was still speaking
words of encouragement to His people who would listen. I am
looking forward to the study of Ezekiel we will begin on August 22 &
24, for in this study we will see God giving encouragement to those who
seek Him in the midst of the judgement of their nation. God also
promises future blessings for the faithful when He comes back to
this earth.
This study will give us a better
understanding of what is happening in our world today as we take a look
at the prophecies about the days in which we live. Many of the Old
Testament prophecies about the future of Israel will be brought out as
we study Ezekiel. So, please plan to come, or listen online, and
be encouraged as we see what God had to say to Ezekiel and through
Ezekiel while he was living in a time of judgement on his nation. I
truly believe you will find Ezekiel relevant to us today.
