God's timing and His provision are perfect!

As many of you already know, Jim has been helping First Baptist Indialantic as their “transitional pastor” since February this year. He worked with leadership, helped the church transition from congregational government to elder leadership, appointed elders, oversaw the rewriting and adoption of a new constitution and bylaws, and offered guidance as the church sought a new Senior Pastor.
Watching the hand of God in the pastor search process was inspiring. The elders looked at resumes for the first time on May 16, 2019. God moved through the process so powerfully and so rapidly, the man God had chosen became evident to the elders on July 3, 2019.
On July 28, 2019, First Baptist Indialantic voted overwhelmingly in agreement with the elders that God was calling Dr. Jonathan Key of New Orleans as the new Senior Pastor. He has already been an amazing blessing to the church and to the community it serves.
And Jim left for New England just five days later. God’s provision and timing are perfect!

Jim preached at Huffman Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL July 7-10, 2019.
Over the past several months, whenever Jim wasn’t traveling he was at First Baptist Indialantic, but he traveled quite a bit! He has been in Georgia, in Galax and in Suffolk, Virginia, in Lake City, Florida, in Detroit, Michigan, in New Orleans, Louisiana and in Birmingham, Alabama.  As mentioned above, right after God supplied First Baptist Indialantic with a wonderful new pastor, Jim went to Alton Bay, New Hampshire for a month. Our family was blessed to all be able to go together for the first week of his time there. Our (adult) kids then flew home to their jobs/school. Becky got to stay nine more days with Jim, then flew home to work on the Bible Cruise and help AJ and our niece Alyssa get settled in college. Then Hurricane Dorian came along, and lengthened Jim’s stay beyond the planned month!  But God was so gracious to us. No damage was done at our home. Quite a bit of beach erosion, but that is the primary damage that is visible in our community. We pray for the people of the Bahamas, as they are facing grief at lost lives and such a difficult recovery.
Jim preached many different messages at Alton Bay Christian Conference Center, but there is one in particular you may be interested to hear. Here is the link to his sermon entitled How to Recognize God’s Voice.
Our family enjoyed hiking at the Flume in Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire.
